Bertinoro
Bertinoro is a calm village located on a hill top in Bologna, Italy. It has an old town vibe, without the typical crowd, with tasty Italian food and gelato. Perfect for holding small-group academic events, I was fortunate to spend five days there as a speaker at PLISS 2026. (All photos shot using a Sony a6400, with a Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 lens.)
Sydney
I had visited Sydney before, but just for a few hours. Mesmerised I was the last time too, but in this trip (a conference in 2026) I got to lavishly explore two of its sides: the charm of its harbour amidst the awe-inspiring colorful skies, and the beauty of its mountains. What more could I say of this wonderful place: I must visit again to explore its famous beaches!
Mumbai City
A weekend travel to Mumbai City (aka South Bombay, or SoBo!) takes you to a different world and time. Each centuries-old building has stories of its own, and each empty street leads to a new facet of the cool weekend vibe. Here are a selected few from a winter afternoon walk through Fort and Ballard Estate, ending near the CSMT station.
Singapore
I visited Singapore in October 2025, to attend the conference SPLASH. I found Singapore to be a neat, walk-friendly city, which is more fascinating in nights than in days (well, due to the weather, as well as the lights). It's full of colors, safe, and very photo-opportunistic (next time I must take my camera!).
Downtown Powai
Powai is a beautiful place located in the heart of Mumbai. On one hand it has large neat buildings inspired by Roman architecture, and on the other hand it hosts a serene blue lake. One thing common across its landscape: Lush green trees creating a mesmerizing blend between city life and nature.
Gemur and Ladakh
I went on a week-long trip to Gemur (Himachal Pradesh) and Zanskar (Ladakh) with an amazing group of colleagues, in the summer of 2024. Even after living amidst the Himalayas for 3+ years, this was the first of a kind trip: awe-striking mountains, beautiful views, and life-changing ideas. Must visit.
København
I visited Copenhagen in 2024 to attend the conference PLDI. It's a city known for its bicyclists, and a blend of modern vibes with a very rich history. Best time to visit -- summers -- and prime summer is when I went :)
Las Vegas
Vegas, located amidst American deserts, is famous for its pop culture, casinos, and night life. I traveled there on a solo trip for a conference, enjoyed walking on its streets, clicking pictures and watching the Fountains of Bellagio. You can never get tired roaming around in this city.
Kanheri Caves
Kanheri Caves are part of Sanjay Gandhi National park at Borivali, Mumbai. It is difficult to believe that such a vast forest and hilly terrain exists amidst one of the largest cosmopolitan cities of the country. I am sure I would return multiple times to see more of "Caves, Trees, and Monkeys".
